Foretravel Technical Q&A
Section: 110VAC

Q: 2007 Nimbus; Unit #6393 Rear a/c. When thermostat calls for cooling, fan comes and and is supposed to be followed by compressor a few seconds later. Compressor tries to come on but immediately goes off. Will repeat cycle of trying to come on and immediately trip out. Worked fine as of 3 weeks ago. Front unit operates as designed. Suggestions???
A: I would tend to think it could be a start capacitor or the compressor itself. You may need to get it into an authorized Duo-Therm (Dometic) dealer.

Q: I have no 110 VAC to the outlets in the kitchen and front area of the coach.
A: Sometimes small appliances such as hair dryers and coffee makers will trip the GFCI breaker which is located in bathroom of all Foretravel coaches. Simply press the rest button and recheck outlets.

Q: Is my coach equipped with a voltage surge protector?
A: Foretravel coaches prior to 2003 year model were not factory equipped with a voltage surge protector. All 2003 model and later motorcoaches are equipped with a voltage surge and over and under voltage protector for shoreline power.
